Switching Back to Blogger

I decided I would switch back to using Blogger to manage my web log. First I figured I would just embed Blogger in my own web site. That proved to be quite a time sink. I spent several hours trying to implement a JavaScript solution to convert a RSS feed to JavaScript. Then I discovered that Blogger now uses a competing option called Atom. Apparently they also do RSS through just a HTTP get option, but I couldn't get it to work with the script I had. I spent a little time trying to figure out how to convert Atom to HTML, but I decided to give up for the night. A lot of the solutions are fairly problematic, since they aren't browser independent.

Over the weekend my brother Phillip introduced me to RSS and Google Reader. I was quite impressed. I'd heard about RSS over the years, but until this weekend I never tried to understand it. I've been thinking of all of the possible applications ever since!
